Painting: Bad Moon Orks (Part Deux)

Hey guys,

So just a couple of updates on everything. I'm now part of the BoLS Blogroll now, so welcome everyone who jumps over from there! I did get some work done last night on the Bad Moon Orks, and I think they're looking pretty snazzy! I'm working on the Nob right now to break up the monotony of painting 5 ork Boyz in a row, and I have to say, he's one funky dude! Its also hard to see in the picture, but he is standing on a crushed STOP sign, just for some laughs and to add a little more personality to the unit. Anyways, here's just a couple pictures:

I've also forgotten the BoLScon Pic of the Day on the last couple of posts, my apologies, but I'll keep throwing up pictures as I remember to. Here's one for all you ork players: Spiky Bitz' Ork Warboss surrounded by other bitz of his army.

Army List: 1000 Points of Walking Garbage Cans

Hey everyone,

So as I'm waiting for my new commission stuff to arrive, I've been thinking about a new start to an army. As of right now, I do have a Chaos Space Marines Battallion waiting for some work, but I'm not quite sure how to go about them right now. However, there is another army I'd love to run, and with the points, it might become a new 1000 Point Team Tournament force. I'm talking about an Ork army! I know you're all thinking, "But Granesh, you already run a horde army, perhaps you've suffered brain damage?" I say nay!

Lets see what you guys think:

• Big Mek with Kustom Force Field, 'eavy Armour and Power Klaw


• Big Mek with Kustom Force Field and Cybork Body.


• 2 Deff Dreads with 2 Close Combat Weapons and Grot Riggers


• 20 man Boyz Squad with Nob, Bosspole, Big Choppa, and Rokkit Launcha


• 9 Killa Kans, with 3 Grotzookas, 3 Kustom Mega-Blastas, and 3 Skorchas

Its a very small model count at about 33 models, and allows for my regular shooty style coupled with a very mean assault force at its core. I have thought about running Grots instead of Boyz, or even breaking up the Boyz squad from 20 to 10, but then I'd have to find more points for the additional Nob. I noticed we have an ork player or two, so I'd love to get some input on the list.

Also, I have some more pictures from BoLScon! Today's picture is an Imperial Leviathan, done up much like the Capitol Imperialis in The Macharian Crusade minidex.

As I said, I'm waiting on the commission stuff to come in, so expect the echoing of WAAAGHS! rolling off the walls of the blog!

T-Minus 4 Hours and Counting!

Hey everyone,
Just a quick update from the dead of night, all of our units are finished, the board is nearly done, and almost everything I wanted to accomplish has been accomplished! Here's a sneaky peaky of my foam tray, with the top two rows being complete Veteran Squads, and the other 3 being slots for my standard infantry!

Obviously not a great picture, but you can get a basic feel for my army from that shot! Alrighty, time to get some finishing touches on some figures, then its off to bed for a few short hours. We're leaving central Colorado at 5:30 AM to get to Fort Worth about 8 or 9 PM. Wish us luck, and expect some more updates on Thursday!

INCOMING! Arvus Lighter

Hey everyone,
So I just noticed I finally have some followers, good to know I'm not blogging into thin air! So to my first followers, welcome and thanks for following my adventures into 40k!
About 3 weeks ago, I stated in a blog post that I had a new project coming in from eBay. Well after some shipping problems, time management problems, etc., it finally arrived!



For being an entirely resin kit, it was actually very straight and unwarped. When I picked up my Hydra, I actually had to cut the barrels off the guns and replace them with Brass tubing to make them straight.
I understand that Forge World is designed for Master Modellers, but I think they should supply better instructions for their figures. Here's a picture of the informational paper that came with the kit:



As you can see, they list the parts, but not how they go together! Most of it was really easy to put together, but I would have preferred more detailed instructions.

Thanks to my Modeller ADD, I already have the kit primed and partially painted, but I have to put it on the back burners as we wind down for BOLScon. I have ordered a nice resin base from Dragon Forge, and I want to get an Acrylic stand and some magnets to get the model to sit up, as well as be able to be removed for transport.
Tomorrow is my last Sunday before BOLScon, so I'm planning an entire day to get most of the army finished, so expect pictures of a finished Tactical Squad, as well as some finished Vets and a Drop Pod or two!
