Hey guys!
So I sat down and did a bunch of priming yesterday. Not as much as I’d have liked, but hey, you can only sneeze so much black spraypaint before you decide to call it quits.
However, I decided to get the Necrons I had lying around based and up to a level where, whenever I just need a paint break, I can grab two of em and zone out for an hour or so.
Last night was one of those nights. So I present the start of Granesh’s Necrons. Will I be keeping this group? No. Will I play them for a bit. Possibly, it’d be nice to play something besides Guard and Chaos Marines.
8 Scarab bases, rearing to go! I know the kit wants 4 on a base, but they have 3 wounds each, so meh!
Really easy job. Boltgun Metal, Dwarf Bronze, Snot and Scorpion Green, and Badab Black and Thraka Green. BAM! Really wondering now how hard it would be to make a Spyder from a Destroyer and some other bitz…hmmm…
And Warrior #1. Not entirely sure if I’m happy with the gun yet, as well as the back plate. Other than that, he turned out perfectly. 23 more to go!
Kinda makes me wish I still had that Overlord…
And, because I like to see painted models next to painted models…
The Alpha Legion is beset upon by the implacable advance of the Necron Horde.
Won’t be getting any time to paint til this evening, but when I do, I’m planning on finishing Wave Serpent #1 and getting a start on #2. Necrons? Maybe a little more work too….

Thanks Marsekay! Honestly, no, I'm not tempted at all by the FW scarabs. I love their look, but the price is too much for not enough models.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, I'm just not a fan of what Forgeworld is trying to do. I can't see the insane costs for their stuff when I know how cheaply produce stuff after it is designed, :)
ReplyDeleteLooking good, man, welcome to Jurassic 40k, :)
I really like the glow at the back of the bugs, you don't ever see that... most people just hit the front eye and call it a day. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteRon, FTW
@Narceron: I still think the main reason their costs are so high is labour, rather than anything else.
ReplyDelete@Ron: Thanks man! I was looking at the back like "Hey, these kinda look like plasma coils, so why not!" These guys were super easy to do, but I'm totally pumped with how they turned out!
