Army List: 2k Points “Power Through PAIN!!!”

Hey everyone,

So just a quick post today. I’ve been rocking out some more paint on my Tau, especially the Crisis Suit Commander. I’ve also been playing around with my friend’s Raven Guard Rhino. What do you guys think?DSCF0460

The picture doesn’t give the Rhino justice…neither does the lighting…ugh, I’ll take another picture either tomorrow or Saturday.

Anyways, the main point of this post was to highlight the Dark Eldar list my friend and I wrote for his new army interest. The entire army is built around maximizing “Power through Pain”, essentially giving the entire army FNP and Furious Charge by turn 2 or 3. I’ll let the list speak for itself.

  • Talos Pain Engine with TL Heat Lance, Chain Flails,  Add. CCW, and an Ichor Injector.

TOTAL: 1999

My friend is a Daemons player who finally got sick of playing daemons and wanted a more finesse army he can actually play. Urien is attached to the 9 man Wych squad, and the Haemonculus are attached to the Wracks. The army is very much an Alpha-Strike first turn rush, but I guess could work in reserves if need be. The Talos and Cronos are giving out Pain Tokens as long as they kill something, and believe me, they’ll kill something. The Reavers are also designed to damage open infantry before reeking havoc in your enemy’s back lines.

My friend would love some feedback on this army, so any comments are greatly appreciated, and I’ll make sure he gets the message.

I’ll have some more pictures of the Tau up this weekend, as well as the Raven Guard as I get bored and whip them out. Being nearly Christmas, the commissions have slowed down quite a bit, but I have some more planned for the start of the new year. I’m also looking into some advertising ventures on the Independent Characters Podcast, so expect that in the New Year as well!

Thanks,

Granesh

  1. Look like a fun list, could certainly be effective, but a limited number of raiders (4) means you could be a very slow DE army no?
The talos and cronos are very low on target priority early in the game aren't they as they have no impact till closer, so its the reavers and the raiders...at 2k are there not going to be a whole tonne of viable anti-raider options facing you?
I think its a cool list and I love the concept...has it had a play test yet?

    Great site by the way...followed

  2. Hi Ven Bro! I'm glad you like the site, I really need to play with some stuff if I'm gonna start doing advertising though...
Anyways, the list should actually be fairly fast. Everything is in those Raiders that rush up the board. The Talos and the Cronos were a few problems of ours. Everything else is fast, and they just putt up the butt of the board towards their rocketing allies...maybe use them as a shield for the Raiders...
The anti-raider thing should be hindered a little with the flickerfields (4++).
It hasn't had a test yet (I love living near NO hobby shops...), but I'm sure it will Christmas Break!

  3. The Tau crisis commander is looking great. Love the fact that he's preparing to leap clear of the ruined detritus of his foolhardy and slow-footed Imperial foes. The contrast between the greys and the whites makes him really stand out.
